Need a ghostwriter, editor or course help?
This editor helped produce books like The Minimalist Entrepreneur and The Middle Finger Project.
Welcome to The Elevator, a newsletter for entrepreneurs to discover highly-recommended talent for hire. It’s written by me, David Sherry. I also post about personal growth happenings. Last week I recommended a pitch deck specialist who’s helped 80+ brands fundraise at higher valuations and a creative recruiter who’s worked with 100 thieves and Mad Happy.
From me:
I wrote a book in Q1 of this year and I couldn’t have done that at that pace without editing help. Julie was my mirror/producer who organized my ideas into something tangible. We had a great process and you should steal it.
You can read about my process for writing a book here.
THIS WEEK THE ELEVATOR RECOMMENDS: JULIE MOSOW
Julie is an independent writer and editor helping produce books like The Minimalist Entrepreneur and The Middle Finger Project.
Julie helps authors turn their ideas into books, courses, newsletters, and more.
Her specialty is writing books, but she’s a partner in the myriad of other ways clients can share their work and create a universe swirling with their ideas.
Here’s how she helps entrepreneurs:
I help people do their best writing and share it, whatever it takes. I can be a ghostwriter, a researcher, an interviewer, an editor, a designer, a marketer, or some combination of all of these.
I want to make something beautiful every time.

“There’s no way this book would exist without Julie, who instantly saw my vision and helped shape the proposal into the manuscript that exists today. ”

Thank you to Julie Mosow for helping me organize my early ideas in a way that didn’t put anyone to sleep. Julie served as a second set of eyes so my in-house editor didn’t think I was a total freaking bonehead—and so far, I’m pretty sure we have everyone fooled.”

Get to know Julie:
I was born in Greenville, Mississippi, and grew up in Nashville. Now I live in Scarsdale, New York in the NYC suburbs (but I’ll never say I’m a New Yorker).
Before (doing what I do now), I was…
I’ve been an independent writer and editor for more than a decade. Prior to that, I was the Editorial Director at Marly Rusoff & Associates and before that, I worked in PR for three years just to be sure corporate America wasn’t for me.
What is one thing you are loving to do or explore that ISN'T work?
What I love to do more than anything in the world is read, and for a long time, I bought into the idea that nerdy readers can’t also be athletes.
Wrong, wrong, wrong.
I started exercising very intensely during the pandemic for my mental health, but right away, I got curious about how strong and fit I could actually be. I love fitness and being outside, especially when it’s hard.

Who is one up-and-coming person you think more people should know about?
I’m really interested in no-code tools and automation, so I love what Daniel Bustamante shares on Twitter about the tools he builds.
I want to find ways to bring systems thinking to creative processes, so I’ve started by implementing some of Daniel’s ideas in my own work.
He shares everything, including his templates, and I’ve learned a lot by watching what he does and how he does it. (He’s probably not up-and-coming for most people, but he’s new to me!)
